Water sanitisation & mosquito protection
Food-grade sanitiser to disinfect your tank water and eliminate mosquitoes, bacteria and foul odour. Apply every 2 months to keep your tank water healthy.
Can be used in conjunction with a 1 micron filter to ensure tank water is safe for drinking.
Tank overflow replacement
One of the biggest problems in tank maintenance is blocked overflow strainers due to fixed overflow screens. This can result in water overflow from the tank inlet causing base erosion and/or structural stress. A major problem with tank water quality occurs when the overflow screens are simply removed to avoid the blockage problem. This usually results in mosquitoes, midges or other pests entering the tank. Installing a high-flow flap valve avoids both these problems; allowing unimpeded overflow but preventing insect and vermin entry.
Leaf Eater upgrade screen
A leaf guard is the most effective front-line defence against roof and gutter debris being washed into the rainwater collection system. The very popular Rain Harvesting Leaf Eater has been widely used over the past few years. Rain Harvesting has continued to improve on their design and have released an upgrade screen to improve the performance of the original model Leaf Eater.
The upgrade screen improves the shedding of debris from the screen face and increases the water flow rate.
Tank inlet strainers
Tank inlet strainers need to be cleaned regularly to prevent deterioration of the mosquito-proof mesh. Many of the early strainers were made of plastic mesh and over time can perish. Incorrect fitting inlet strainers can leave small gaps through which mosquitoes and other insects can gain access to the water. We have a range of inlet strainers in a variety of sizes with durable stainless steel mesh to ensure correct fit and optimum filtration.
Light guards - UV protection for your water
Protect your stored rainwater tank water from contamination by algae by installing a light guard over the inlet strainer. Algae growth depends on a number of different factors including PH level and water temperature but it is exacerbated by direct sunlight on the water surface.
Water level guage
Take the guess work out of knowing how much water is the tank. A water level guage beats tapping on the side of the tank! The guage indicates the height of the water in the tank and with some simple maths you can convert this to volume if you're after a more precise measurement.
Mosquito protection
Regular tank maintenance will reduce the risk of mosquito infestation, but unfortunately there are still situations under which mosquito larvae can enter the tank. The most common occurrence is where water pools in the rainwater catchment area or gutters. Non-hazardous products such as "Mozzi Rid" can be added to the tank to kill mosquitoes and larvae before they hatch.
Pump covers
A pump cover protects your pump from damage caused by exposure to sunlight and water. Many tank manufuacturers void pump warranty if the pump has not been protected from the elements.
Pump covers come in a variety of colours to compliment the tank or surroundings.
